Our dogs are housed in an indoor/outdoor biosecure facility that
provides ample space and socialization for the overall
well-being of the animal. Donor dogs are routinely monitored
hematologically and can be considered specific-pathogen- free.
The animals are vaccinated with better canine
booster-type products, monthly parasiticides, and yearly rabies
prophylaxis.
Retired or older blood donor animals will be
adopted by our clients if at all possible.
The Veterinarians' Blood Bank is federally
licensed, monitored by the USDA and subsequently approved to
sell blood based products to California Veterinary facilities.
All canine donors receive on-site 24-hour-a-day
veterinary supervision and have been serologically screened for
canine brucellosis, Borrelia burgodorferi (Lyme Disease),
Dirofilaria immitus (heartworm disease), Ehrlichiacanis and
Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
All feline donors are tested free of Feline Leukemia, Feline Immune Deficiency virus, Toxoplasmosis, Feline Infectious Peritonitis, and Hemobartonella.
The cats are vaccinated yearly with a better feline booster-type product.
